Ray Rice Pleads Not Guilty on Assault Charges

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated assault on Thursday in New Jersey.

Rice was charged after incident at an Atlantic City casino on February 15.  The incident involved his then fiancee Janay Palmer.

Palmer and Rice were married on March 31 and she walked to the courthouse with Rice.  The couple was seen holding hands and she told reporters that Rice is a "happy father and happy husband."

TMZ Sports obtained footage of Rice dragging what appeared to be an unconscious Palmer out of an elevator on the night of the incident.

It is unclear how (or if) the Ravens will punish Rice.  General Manager Ozzie Newsome has said, "We'll deal with Ray [Rice] when the time comes."
