The Troggs singer Reg Presley has passed away at the age of 71. Presley and the Troggs are best known for their 1966 hit, Wild Thing.
Presley battled lung cancer for the past year. He died at his home in Andover, England on Monday. His agent Keith Altham made the statement on his Facebook page:
"My dear old pal Reg Presley of The Troggs died today at l.OO. surrounded by family and friends at his home in Andover following a succession of recent strokes and a losing battle with cancer. He was one very real person in a sometimes very unreal world. Our thoughts are with his wife Brenda and the the family and those legion of fans who loved his music and his band. I will miss him hugely."
The Troggs were a British invasion band who recorded Wild Thing, which launched the band into stardom. They also released over hits including Love is All Around and With a Girl Like You.
