The Rolling Stones' Promoter is Denying That They've Had to Discount Tickets

The Rolling Stones' "50 And Counting" tour is selling well, according to the tour's promoter.  Reports that tons of tickets are sold at major discounts are false, says John Meglen co-president of AEG Live subsidiary Concerts West.

Meglen tells Billboard, "It's unfortunate in our business that everybody wants to be cynics.  The fact is, the tour is doing great and we have no problems whatsoever."  But, he does go on to admit that not everybody is willing to spend $600 on a ticket.   "Did we hit a point where we ran out of people that would buy at $600? Yeah."

There are tickets now available for some shows for $85.  But, Meglen claims that those tickets have not been discounted from $600.  Most of those tickets are for upper bowl seats in arenas with the occasional pit ticket "peppered" in.
