Journey's Neal Schon and Carlos Santana Looking to Work Together

Journey's Neal Schon and Carlos Santana Looking to Work Together

Journey guitarist Neal Schon is looking to reunite with Carlos Santana.  Schon played in Carlos' band Santana in the early 1970s.  He was on two albums, 1971's Santana III and 1972's Caravanserai.

In 1973, Schon formed Journey and is now best known as the band's guitarist.  But, he's looking to work with Santana again:

“I’ve reconnected with Carlos Santana now and we have been talking about doing something together again. We’ve talked a lot on the telephone and I hooked up with him before Christmas. You never know what’s going to happen. Life is full of surprises. It’s very exciting.”

Schon famously chose Santana over Eric Clapton's band, Derek and the Dominoes.  As Schon tells Noise11.com, he idolized Clapton.  But, he was unwilling to move to London.  Around the same time, the then 15-year-old Schon recieved an offer to join Santana.
