In 2011, Cheap Trick narrowly escaped harm when a stage collapsed during their show at the Ottawa Bluesfest. All of their gear was destroyed and their truck driver broke his femur.
Now, the band is suing the festival for $1 million. The Guardian reports that the suit claims the festival responded in an, "unsuitable, haphazard and inadequate manner."
Specifically, the band is suing the companies that built the stage, sound, and lighting. Cheap Trick wants $400,000 to repair and replace equipment and $600,000 for "special damages."
